What the ranking sites agree on
Read past the winners, which differ on every page, and look at the criteria. The Hemp Doctor says it ranks on COAs, price per gram and reviews. Vaping360’s list stresses third-party lab testing. Exhale Wellness says the best carts are lab-tested with publicly available results and avoid harmful additives. TribeTokes’ buying guide covers distillate versus live resin, battery pairing and COA verification. Every one of them puts the certificate of analysis first. So should you.
Why the lab report carries so much weight
Delta-8 occurs in cannabis only at substantially lower concentrations than delta-9, as a 2022 paper in the Journal of Cannabis Research notes, so the delta-8 in a cart was made, not extracted. The FDA’s consumer notice says delta-8 THC products are not approved by the FDA and may put you at risk. A batch report from an independent lab, with cannabinoid content and contaminant panels, is how a careful maker shows its conversion was clean.

All are from TRĒ House. Three are single-cannabinoid live resin carts at $16.99, one each labeled hybrid, indica and sativa, and they’re the simplest choice if delta-8 is what you came for. The $19.99 carts are blends that add delta-10 and THC-P, or delta-9, which makes them stronger and harder to predict. None of the listings prints a potency figure, so ask for the batch report.
There’s a sixth cart we’ve left out of the table: a blend containing THC-O. In 2022 researchers at Portland State University reported in Chemical Research in Toxicology that vaping cannabinoid acetates, THC-O among them, releases ketene, a toxic gas. We’d choose a cart without it.

Running a delta-8 cart
Start low. Mellow Fellow suggests 2.4 to 2.8 volts for live resin, and TribeTokes 2.6 to 3.0 for distillate. More voltage makes more vapor and a harsher taste, and it doesn’t add anything to the oil.
How delta-8 compares with a dispensary cart
Forbes describes the effects as similar, with delta-8 less potent. The bigger difference is paperwork. State-market carts here have a median tested THC of 84.3%, printed on 222 listings, and cost a median of $19.95 a gram. A delta-8 cart costs about the same and tells you less.
These rules have an end date. Hemp-derived vapes are sold under a federal definition that is about to change. From December 11, 2026 hemp is judged on total THC, THCA and delta-8 included, and a finished product can contain at most 0.4 mg of total THC per container. One part arrives sooner: from November 12, 2026 hemp no longer covers cannabinoids that the cannabis plant can’t naturally produce. The law behind both was enacted on November 12, 2025. What gets you higher, D8 or D9?
Delta-9. Delta-8 binds the CB1 receptor less strongly, which is why it’s described as milder.

That’s personal, and the research is thin. Delta-9 from a licensed market is the best studied and the only one sold here with batch results on the listing.
Are delta-8 carts going to stay legal?
Federal law changes on December 11, 2026, when delta-8 counts toward a hemp product’s total THC. Many states restrict it already.
