- Dab pen or wax pen. A pen-style vaporizer for cannabis concentrates (Vaping360). Puffco: it’s designed for wax, shatter or rosin. DRD says there is no real difference between the two names; Lookah draws a fine line, with wax pens for softer waxes and dab pens for harder concentrates.
- Cart. A pre-filled cartridge of oil, usually with a 510 thread. CCELL’s distinction is the useful one: dab pens are for the solid kind of concentrate, carts are filled with oil.
- Vape pen or weed pen. Usually a cart plus its battery, though plenty of people say dab pen when they mean exactly that.

Is a dab stronger than a cart?
It can be, but the pen isn’t the reason. Rev Canna puts it well: a dab pen delivers potency based on whatever concentrate you choose. Cart oil is no slouch either. Carts on this site have a median tested THC of 84.3%, and disposables 86.6%. The difference people report is more about the size of the hit than the oil.
